The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling (”Council”) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our nevadacouncil.org & WhenTheFunStops.org web sites (the “Site”), and we have created the following policy to demonstrate our commitment to you. This privacy policy advises our visitors and registered users of the types of information that may be collected online on this Site and the practices that the Council follows with respect to the use and dissemination of such information.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this privacy policy, please contact us via e-mail at info@nevadacouncil.org fax at 702-369-9765 or mail to Nevada Council on Problem Gambling, 5552 South Fort Apache Road, Suite 100, Las Vegas, NV 89148.

Information We Collect

The Site collects personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily communicate with the Council by registering for an account, completing a form or survey, or emailing a staff member of the Council. Personally identifiable information is information such as your name, physical address, e-mail address, or telephone number. Any comment, question, answer, information, message or picture that you submit that may be posted on our Site, Facebook, or Twitter feed, including but not limited to the posting of comments on our blog, is a public communication and may be viewed by the general public. Therefore, you acknowledge and understand that you have no expectation of privacy or confidentiality in the content you submit for such uses over our Site, whether or not the communication includes personal information about you. If you display personal information in any communication submitted for such uses, other individuals may collect and use your personal information. While we may remove personal information from postings to our Site, we assume no obligation to do so. We are not responsible for, nor can we guarantee the protection of, any personal information you disclose in a communication submitted for such purposes or you include in an email or other communication submitted to us for such posting, and thus, you acknowledge that if you disclose personal information in any such material, you do so at your own risk.

In addition, our web servers automatically collect and log web usage data and other non-personal information from you when you visit the Site. This information, including your IP address, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Site. We may also use a third party service such as Google Analytics to track trends and Site usage.

How We Use and Share Information Collected

We use personally identifiable information provided to us on the Site to respond to your request or feedback and to improve the content and effectiveness of the Site. In addition to the purpose for which you originally submitted the information, we may use the information you provide to make you aware of other Council programs, services or events. We may also combine the personally identifiable information you provide to us on the Site with information we obtain offline or from other third party sources.

Except as set forth in this privacy policy or we disclose otherwise at the point of collection of personally identifiable information, we do not sell or share the personally identifiable information we collect on the Site with non-affiliated third parties for their own use. However, we will provide personally identifiable information to non-affiliated third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or to otherwise comply with law, to protect our interests, or when we believe in good faith the law requires it. We may also use third-party suppliers and service providers to fulfill the services offered on our Site and may make personal information available to them to the extent necessary for them to provide services to us (for example, to ship you a product).

In addition, we may use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on web-usage data or statistical information that we have compiled about our users.

Use of Cookies

Like most web sites, we employ cookies to help visitors more efficiently use the Site. A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a web site and stored on a user’s hard drive. We use cookies to continually enhance your experience, and may use them to store your preferences and to customize content specific to your needs. If you do not want your browser to accept cookies, you can modify the cookie option in your browser’s settings. Each browser is different, so you will need to check your specific browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change the cookie preferences. You can also set your browser to notify you when a site sends you a cookie. However, some Site features or services may not function properly without cookies.

Choice/Opt-Out

If you would prefer to opt-out of receiving future marketing communications or publications from the Council, please notify us of your preferences by e-mail at info@nevadacouncil.org and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to fulfill your request.

Security

While we have measures in place to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and make proper use of the information that we collect, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us.

We make content from affiliated and other third-party web sites available to you from optional links located on the Site. Please be aware that these web sites are not subject to the Council privacy policy, and we thus recommend that you review the privacy policy of each such web site to determine how that web site protects your privacy.
