Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

ASIST is a two day training designed for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. The emphasis of the ASIST workshop is on suicide first aid. The workshop is two full days, 8 hours each day, for a total of 12 CEHs:  Attendance both days is required – no partial CEHs will be given.  At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Recognize invitations for help
• Reach out and offer support
• Review the risk of suicide
• Apply a suicide intervention model
• Link persons at risk with community resources
