PURPOSE:

• to encourage and facilitate the inclusion of problem gambling education in professional conferences and training events
• to expand continuing education opportunities for problem gambling professionals
• to increase awareness of problem gambling issues among other professionals

GUIDELINES:

Nevada Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) solicits submissions of problem gambling presentations throughout the year from qualified experts in Nevada. Submission are reviewed and summarized for topic, type of presentation, presenter qualifications and availability. This information is used to make appropriate speaker referrals to organizations interested in adding problem gambling information to their professional education efforts.

NCPG responds to requests for speakers, coordinates with presenters to confirm availability, and provides general administrative support for presenters, as needed.

NCPG will make application to the Board of Examiners for Drug, Alcohol and Gambling Counselors, where applicable, for continuing education approval of non-repetitive topics and material.

NCPG does not charge a fee for this coordination service, but requesting organizations, and speakers, may be asked to provide feedback or administer participant satisfaction surveys for use in program evaluation.
