Nevada Council on Problem Gambling is committed to increasing the knowledge and understanding of problem gambling among professionals who provide direct services to the public. We encourage all mental health and social service providers to become educated about problem gambling issues in order to improve the opportunities for early intervention and appropriate client referral.

Problem Gambling Basics for Healthcare & Other Professionals
The Core Counselor Training Program is comprised of eleven (11) separate education modules, each consisting of three hours of instruction presented in a group classroom setting. Modules are presented in individual morning, afternoon or evening sessions, at multiple times throughout the year. Participants may attend any number of modules in any order but must initially complete Module 1 as a prerequisite for all other modules. This flexible delivery system allows greater access to training opportunities for Nevada's working professionals.
These modules can be used to meet the 30 hr. Board-approved training requirement to become a Nevada Certified Problem Gambling Counselor Intern.*
