2008 Conference Summary

The theme of the 2nd annual event was Sharing Tools and Building Bridges, recognizing the importance of expanding knowledge among all professionals, and integrating services to improve the health of our communities.  This multidisciplinary conference provided the opportunity for Nevada professionals to learn how to bridge the gaps in service and become better equipped to help address the impact of problem gambling on individuals and families in our state.

The conference program included 12 workshops, 4 plenary sessions, and 2 keynote addresses, making a total of 12 CEUs available for each of the 138 registered participants!  Registered participants were also invited to attend a special one-day  pre-conference Workshop for Clinical Supervisors, presented by the Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors, earning an additional 6 CEUs.

The conference program was approved for CEU’s by the following professional boards:

• NV Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug & Gambling Counselors
• NV Board of Marriage & Family Therapy
• NV Board of Social Workers
• NV Board of Psychological Examiners
• National Problem Gambling Certification Board
